Mirabilia is a beautiful book that compiles real and fictional stories in a compendium of wonders, songs, legends, adventures and curiosities related to the importance of the Camino de Santiago for northern Spain.

I worked on this project for Anaya Touring publishing house, Hachette's imprint in Spain, as Art Director and Illustrator, designing the cover and interior, and creating the illustrations as an extension of the book's atmosphere. The illustrations depict mythical moments such as the burial of the Apostle Saint James, fantastic legends, and stories about artists, architects, places, and historical figures.

My illustrations in Mirabilia provide the necessary setting to place the reader in a fantastical world so important to the mythical narrative of northern Spain and Central Europe, its culture, art, and architecture over the past thousand years.
